this recipe has been in my “to bake” folder for… forever? or a really really long time… long story short-they’re amazing. fresh, tart, sweet and pretty :) pretty always wins extra points in my book.  made with more blueberries from the farmers market, which ps. is the best place ever to get fruits & veggies.  if you have some blueberries in your kitchen....

His: Steak and Eggs
Every Saturday is the farmer’s market in Puyallup, WA and the lady and I think that it’s the best one we’ve been to thus far. The people are just a lot friendlier and the variety and options are way better!  Any-who, this is just a little somethin’ I made with the fresh ingredients that we purchased today from our visit to the market. For this dish we bought some more...

His: Date Night Meal
This is just a little somethin’ that I put together for my lady and I for our weekly date night. I cheated a little bit tho because I didn’t make everything, but dude, Metropolitan Market or—Met Market to those familiar—has such great food and ingredients that we had to have the best of both aisles.  The cioppino was already made and is made fresh daily in the seafood...

His: Simple Spaghetti
Hey everyone! This is just a little somethin’ I made for dinner because the weather was so nice and it seemed like a rad meal to make. It’s pretty simple really. I found some spaghetti rigati, in the pasta section, which I’ve never come across before and it looked pretty cool! I just took a nice and beefy, vine-ripened tomato, put a slice of pepperoni on it and then topped it...

her: PB&J cupcakes
we don’t eat white bread. or very much processed food either (super snotty, i know)… BUT, when i want a PB&J sandwich… ALL i want is some good ol’ white bread. creamy peanut butter and some strawberry jam.  equal parts PB&J please.  these cupcakes are literally a PB&J sandwich.  you’ll feel like you’re 5 all over again-in the best way possible.   ...

her: vegan & gluten free banana/blueberry cupcakes

His: Cod Tacos and Cowboy Caviar
It’s supposed to be summer here in Washington state. But the weather seems to think otherwise with a ridiculous downpour today and it’s been like that all week! I don’t care though, I’m still going to cook like it’s a blazin’ yet refreshing 85 degrees (cuz let’s be honest, anything over 75 degrees in WA is a heatwave lol). So i just made a little...

His: Brunch Burger
We went to the Farmer’s Market this weekend and had a blasty blast of a time! We only spent $40 and purchased so many awesome things! Part of our sweet loot was local free-range, grass-fed burgers, local lettuce and chipotle & tomato sheep cheese. We also got a boatload of other things which my lady used to maker her delicious galette. By the time we got back, it was brunch time so I...

her: mixed berry galette
here’s the great thing about a galette… it’s supposed to rustic and natural.  no fussiness… just amazing, buttery, flaky dough and delish berries (or whatever else suits your fancy).  we picked up some organic berries (blueberries, strawberries and raspberries) from the farmers market this morning. screamin’ good deal and they’re some kind of beautiful.  sweet,...

His: Penne a la Paolo
So we’ve been eating vegetarian during the week to save money to buy better, natural and organic meat for the weekends. In doing so, I made this delectable dish. It’s just a little somethin’ I made after my lady showed me a blog that featured a dish similar to this but we couldn’t find it again and we didn’t know the name of the dish. If you’re that person,...

His: Bourbon & Brown Sugar Ribs
Just a little somethin’ I put together with things from the fridge. I saw a rack of baby back pork ribs and thought it would be a good idea. I created a basic barbecue sauce with a little extra brown sugar and tossed in a shot (or two lol) of Jim Beam. It adds a really amazing flavor for sure. Then I grilled these bad boys for about 2.5-3 hrs at around 250 degrees and just let it sit...

her: homemade blueberry pie
my first pie… from scratch! it’s a little “rustic” looking, but i think that gives it some character.  it wasn’t as intimidating as i thought it was going to be, but still a little stressful. i hope it tastes as good as it smells. recipe source: williams-sonoma
